 coaCH Katherine J.Skarbek

Katherine is passionate about the coaching profession! She’s been applying her trade in Winston-Salem North Carolina after playing at and graduating from Wake Forest University 2008.  She has experience working with players of all ages and skill levels.   As an Assistant Director at Twin City Youth Soccer Association, Katherine coaches in the U9/10 Youth Academy for boys and girls, and coaches 3 girls classic teams.

In 2014, Katherine was honored to be named to the NSCAA 30 Under 30 Program that recognizes achievements of young coaches and provides educational and mentoring opportunities throughout the course of a year. This year, Katherine will join the NC Youth Soccer Coaching Education Staff, teaching different coaching courses throughout the state.

Away from the soccer fields, Katherine enjoys traveling, hiking, playing Kan-Jam with friends, and eating delicious food. She’s been to nearly 20 countries on 4 continents. In January 2012, she climbed Mt.  Kilimanjaro, one of the 7 summits, and 2 other mountains to raise money for 3 different organizations in East Africa. Coach Kat’s family works very closely with the School of St. Jude in Arusha, Tanzania, and she loves traveling back there regularly to visit with teachers, students, and volunteers!
